Vietnam Wall traveling replica to come to Fairview Heights Oct. 12-14

The Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall, a three-quarter scale traveling replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. will be opened to the public Oct. 12-14 at Lake View Acres Memorial Gardens.

The display is free and open to the public 24 hours a day from Friday, Oct. 12 through Sunday, Oct. 14. Lake View Memorial Gardens is located off Illinois 159 in Fairview Heights (5000 N. Illinois St.).

The 8-foot-high, 240-foot-long replica is inscribed with the names of more than 58,000 service men and women who died or are missing in Vietnam. Paper and pencils will be provided so visitors can make rubbings of names etched on the wall.
