The Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Dr Michael Misick, along with ministerial colleagues: Deputy Premier Floyd Hall, Minister of Finance and Galmo Williams, Minister of Home Affairs and Public Safety, met with officials from the United States and Bahamas on Tuesday.

At separate meetings, the Turks and Caicos government ministers first entertained discussions with United States Ambassador to the Bahamas, Ned Siegel, David Kurkel, Rear Admiral, Commander of the Seventh Coast Guard District and Kevin Stanfill, of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Country Attaché, along with five Coast Guard Officers.
Next, they met with a delegation from The Bahamas, in the persons of Senator Elma Campbell, Minister of State for Immigration and Godfrey Rolle, Ministry of Home Affairs.
At both meetings, discussions were focused on improving co-operation in combating illegal immigration and drugs trafficking, in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
The Governor, Richard Tauwahre, was due to hold a press conference, where more is to be disclosed with regard to the issues discussed, and how these countries and agencies can work in unison for the betterment of all concerned.
