50%
of young travelers book breaks online
The number of young people booking their vacations
online has increased to 50 per cent, new figures
show.
The study, which was conducted by the World
Youth & Student Educational Travel Confederation
and surveyed 8,500 young travelers, was released
earlier this week.
The average spend per trip has gone up by 40
per cent since 2002 to $1,915 with around €1,140
of this being put aside for destination costs
and spending money.
Backpackers chose Thailand, Australia and New
Zealand as the most popular destinations to
travel to while young travelers opt for the
US, France and Australia as well.
