Tangshan
city hopes to attract Singapore investments
The city of Tangshan in northern China is seeking
to attract foreign investments, and a delegation
is in Singapore to draw interest in areas such
as ports, energy and water processes.
Thirteen Singapore businesses have already invested
a total of S$250 million in this northern Chinese
city, which has seen rapid economic progress
in recent years.
And
Tangshan has embarked on a new coastal development
- the Cao Fei Dian district - which will bank
on the city's natural advantage in ports, ship-building,
energy and logistics.
Tangshan's
officials said Singapore's experience in these
industries can help catalyse Cao Fei Dian's
progress.
