Qatar Tours win Virgin Atlantic tourney

Qatar Tours won the inaugural edition of the Virgin Atlantic Cricket Sixes tournament with a five-wicket victory over Happy Journey Travels (HJT) in the final played under flood lights.
Batting first, Happy Journey set a target of 54, which Qatar Tours achieved in the final over.
Earlier in the day, HJT, Mannai Travel (B), Jet Travel, Overseas Travel Bureau(OTB) A, Qatar Tours, OTB-B, Al Maha and Darwish Travel made it to the second stage.
In the first semi-final, Qatar Tours defeated Al Maha by three wickets, with man of the match Asad scoring a fine half century. HJT set the final meeting with Qatar Tours, beating Jet Travel by seven runs in a thriller. Mustafa topscored with 44 runs to claim man of the match award.
Hayatt from HJT and Sunny from OTB were adjudged the best bowler (3 wickets) and the best batsman (108 runs) of the tournament respectively. Kashif was the man of the final for his aggressive batting.
The big award of the evening, a return ticket to London on Virgin Atlantic, was picked up by Asad who was conferred with the man of the series award for his inspiring performance.
Another highlight of the day was an exhibition match between Virgin Atlantic and a combined team of travel agents. N M Shafiq, general manager of Regency Travel and Tours, and Bimal Jain, sales manager – Middle East, for Virgin Atlantic, gave away the trophies.
