Oman offered Sunderland trial – report
by eleven-a-side.com
Derry City defender Ken Oman is set to travel to the Stadium of Light for a trial with Roy Keane’s Sunderland squad, according to a morning newspaper report.
Oman, 25, is out of contract with Derry at the end of the current eircom League of Ireland season, making him a free agent after the Candystripes’ Setanta Sports Cup play-off against either Finn Harps or Cobh Ramblers later this month.
According to the Irish Independent, the former Republic of Ireland under-21 international will make the trip to Wearside after Derry’s final league game against Longford Town on Friday.
Oman also had a trial at Stoke City recently while several other Irish, English and Scottish clubs are keen on the highly-rated centre half.
