Oman invited for Sunderland tria

Derry defender Ken Oman will travel to Sunderland for a trial at the end of the eircom League season according to reports.

The 25 year-old defender is out of contract at the Candystripes, and recently spent a trial period at Stoke City.

Derry face a play-off to decide a spot in next season's Setanta Cup against either Cobh Ramblers or Finn Harps later this month, but after that, Oman is free to leave, with a host of clubs hot on his trail.

If a cross-channel move fails to materialise, both Drogheda and St. Pat's are understood to be waiting in the wings for the highly-rated former Bohemians man.
