Mongolia to attend Tumangan

Mongolia will be represented at the ninth session of the Advisory Commission of the UN administered Tumangan Initiative.
The meeting will be held November 15 and 16 in Vladivostok.
Countries near the Tumannaya River basin will discuss ways of increasing joint development of the area, as well as plan the budget for 2008.
Signed by participating countries in 1995, this U.N. program is designed to enlarge economic cooperation between Russia and neighboring Asian countries.
Areas in which cooperation is planned includes investments, trade and economic cooperation, and joint assistance in transport, tourism, ecology, electrical power and telecommunications.
Besides Mongolia, participating countries will include Russia, China, Taiwan, North Korea, and South Korea.
