Moldova to strengthen

Moldovan Deputy Premier, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Stratan today met Swedish General Director for Political Affairs at the Swedish Foreign Ministry Bjorn Lyrvall and Bucharest-based Swedish Ambassador to Moldova Mats Aberg, according to the Foreign and European Integration Ministry s press service.

Andrei Stratan thanked the Swedish side for the technical and financial assistance the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency has provided Moldova with and for the support offered by the Agency for Cooperation Development with Moldova of the Bucharest-based Swedish embassy.

Stratan expressed the Moldovan government s willingness to further cooperate with the Swedish side, especially to strengthen the Moldova-Sweden political dialogue.

The actions Moldova has been undertaking in the context of the European Integration have also been discussed during the meeting.

Andrei Stratan highly appreciated Sweden's support and encouragement for Moldova's European bid. In the context, he underscored the importance of the conference "Moldova in Europe-Europe in Moldova", held today in Chisinau with the support of the Swedish Foreign Ministry and the Swedish Institute for International Affairs.

The conference is organized by the Foreign and European Integration Ministry, the Swedish Foreign Ministry, the Swedish Institute for International Affairs, and the Institute for Public Policies from Moldova.
