Youth
Theatre gets set to travel to India
A delegation of young performers will be travelling
to India next month as the only representatives
from the West Indies to attend the eighth children
World Festival of Performing Arts.
The
country will be represented by the National
Youth Theatre under the direction of Eustace
Simon.
Simon
said that many applications were entered from
youth theatre companies around the world.
“Thirty
foreign groups were chosen and Antigua and Barbuda’s
qualifying video was the only one from the West
Indies that was accepted,” a press release
stated.
Simon
said it was therefore a great honour for Antigua
and Barbuda to attend since he sees it as the
National Youth Theatre going onto a world stage
to represent the West Indies.
