A POP-UP dental surgery
is coming to the North-East to promote the cut-price
benefits of dental treatment in the former Eastern
Bloc.
Hungarian Dental Travel, which
operates out of an inflatable, mobile surgery
is holding consultation sessions across the
UK and is due to visit Newcastle.
Prospective patients will get to
discuss their requirements with a Budapest-based
dentist who registered with the General Dental
Council in Britain three years ago.
Other staff will be on hand to
explain the price plan and flight and hotel
costs.
Cecilia Varga, marketing director
for Hungarian Dental Travel, said the clinic
was visiting Stockport on Friday and Saturday
to introduce prospective patients to the benefits
of dental tourism She said it is also due to
come to Newcastle, Liverpool, Glasgow, London,
and Birmingham.
Ms Varga said patients who opted
for treatment in Hungary could expect to receive
aftercare from the same dentist in the UK at
the mobile clinic.
Crowns and implants were the most
popular treatments and the average spend was
around £4,000, she said.
She added that a Manchester
woman spent £13,000 with the company,
after being quoted £40,000 for the same
treatment in the UK.
