The number of tourist complaints during the
National Day Golden Week Holiday this year was
two-thirds lower with only 12 complaints lodged.
Additionally, the number of complaints during
Labour Day holiday had fallen by 66 per cent.
Hong Kong Commissioner for Tourism Au King-Chi
said that the Government does it best monitor
the quality of tourism services so that Hong
Kong can remain a popular tourist spot and welcomes
suggestions and contributions from people.
Local
travel agencies have also been cautioned to
not conduct business with Mainland travel firms
who have not been authorised to take visitors
on a tour of Hong Kong.
Mainland
authorities also expressed concern and said
that they will take action in order to safeguard
consumers from any malpractices
