Guam's Department of
Veterans' Affairs will be going under the microscope
this week as a staff delegation from the Subcommittee
on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs
of the House of Veterans' Affairs Committee
will be visiting.
The delegation is coming at the
request of Congresswoman Madeline Bordallo to
investigate the current claims processing system
on island. In particular, to try and create
potential solutions to the backlog and denial
of claims for veterans on Guam.
Via a release Congresswoman Bordallo
states, "It is very important for the staff
from the Veterans' Affairs Committee to come
to Guam to investigate ways of improving claims
processing for our local veteran community."
Following the visit to our island,
the delegation will travel to Honolulu to meet
with VA officials at the Regional Office.
