Four trips to Finland
are up for grabs from the Rotary Clubs.
The clubs in district 5550 are
looking for a team of four young professionals
who would be available to travel to the Nordic
country for about a month, from April 14 to
May 11, 2009.
The trip is part of a Rotary Group
Study Exchange, open to candidates between the
ages of 25-40. Applicants must also be Canadian
citizens, currently employed for at least two
years in a profession or business, be in good
health, be able to work as part of a team, act
as an ambassador, and not be immediately related
to a Rotary member.
The exchange is a vocational and
cultural experience for the purpose of promoting
world understanding, peace and friendship.
The team, plus a Rotarian leader,
will be selected from district 5550, which includes
most of Saskatchewan (except the western portion),
Manitoba and northwestern Ontario.
Travel, accommodation, and meals
are arranged. Team members are responsible for
their passports, visa, medical and vaccination
costs.
Members will also be required to
attend a two-day orientation session prior to
the trip.
Applications must be submitted
to a Rotary club in the district by Sept. 12.
They can be obtained from Myrna King at twokings@mts.net.
The host country will also arrange
daily schedules, including three to five days
of vocational experiences of interest to each
member. In return, district 5550 will host a
team from Finland. |
