Cardinal
visits twin city in great tour of China
CARDINAL Keith O'Brien is to become the first
Western leader of the Roman Catholic Church
to visit China this century.
Scotland's most senior Catholic will visit Edinburgh's
twin city, Xi'an, during his 12-day pastoral
visit, starting on Friday.
He met six guests from the city during this
year's Edinburgh Festival, and will be accompanied
by Monsignor David Gemmell, the administrator
of St Mary's Cathedral, on the visit.
They
will also travel to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong
Kong.
