KDN at Limuru, Canada Cup at Windsor

KDN, the title sponsors of the 2008 Golfer of the Year Series, will this weekend be sponsoring a members’ competition at the Limuru Country Club. The competition will also be used as an opportunity by KDN to hand over new pin-flags to Limuru’s golf section. According to Vincent Wangombe, the KDN
Marketing Manager this sponsorship is over and above their Golfer of the Year sponsorship.
"Although we are spending over Sh4m on the Golfer
of the Year series, we felt it was important to connect to the weekend golfers who may not participate in the Goty series, hence this sponsorship. And as part of our CSR, we will be donating 18 new pin flags to the club this weekend," Wangombe added.
The next Golfer of the Year series will be the Coast Open at the Mombasa Golf Club on the first weekend of August.
Meanwhile the Canadian High Commission will today hold its annual Canada Cup golf tournament in celebration of Canada day. Over 140 players are expected to participate in this year’s golf tournament including senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and business executives.
This year, Canada’s Confederation turns 141 years and is also celebrating the 400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec City.
Canada is also celebrating the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Crown Colony of British Colombia and the 250th anniversary of the establishment of representative government in Nova Scotia, making Canada one of the world’s first democracies.
In partnership with the Canadian High Commission, the golf tournament has received sponsorship from Alliance Hotels & Resorts, Bata Shoe Company, Comtec Group of Companies, Databit Ltd and Eveready Batteries.
