As the leading edge of post-tropical storm Noel pushed into Nova Scotia last night with gusting winds, pouring rain and lightning, Atlantic Canada and parts of Quebec awaited the full brunt of the weather.
"It's there and it's just going to get worse as the hours continue," predicted Bob Robichaud, a meteorologist with the Canadian Hurricane Centre in Dartmouth, N.S.
Dozens of flights to and from Halifax Stanfield International Airport were cancelled last night in anticipation of the severe weather. |
