Africa Eto'o Joins Cameroon
by Goal.com
Samuel Eto'o has been allowed to join up with the Cameroonian squad for the upcoming pre-African Cup of Nations training camp despite not being fit to play.
However, while he will not take part in his country's group training at the meeting in Germany, the Barcelona hierarchy feel that a change of surroundings will do him good.
The key striker has played just one Liga game this season as injury struck early and, with a detailed individual program of recovery to undertake, it is hoped that the trip to Germany, which concluded on Monday, will be beneficial.
Cameroon coach Otto Pfister, too, was eager for the national team captain to take part.
Should his recovery continue at the current rate, then 26 year old Samuel should be back in action in around three weeks.
Eto'o, formerly of Real Madrid and Real Mallorca, has over 60 caps for his country.
