XL.com to begin new
by Cheapflights.co.uk
Budget airline XL.com is to begin the only scheduled route between London Gatwick and Knock in the west of Ireland.
The service will operate six days a week beginning on December 14, with flights departing at varying times.
Tickets are on sale now, beginning at £19 one-way, including taxes.
Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with 189 seats, will be used on the route.
"We brought back this Gatwick-Knock route as a response to huge customer demand following other operators pulling out last year," said airline managing director Martin Lock.
"The launch is part of our pledge to expand into Ireland, which commenced with a charter service between Bourgas and Knock in May 2007."
Other destinations offered by XL.com from Gatwick include Alicante, Barbados, Bodrum, Corfu, Malaga, Malta, Orlando Sanford, Sharm el Sheikh, St Lucia and Tenerife.
