Angola: New Airport Works Delayed
Angolan Transports minister, André Luís Brandão, Thursday in Luanda told the Parliament that the works of construction of the new airport, in the locality of Bom Jesus, northern Bengo province, are delayed.
According to the minister who was speaking to the MPs about the new Civil Aviation Law, said the delay is owed to the need for a re-evaluation of the project and financial arrangements.
He said that once finished it will be called "Angola International Aiport", not Luanda International Airport as oftnen wrongly called.
Thursday's session of the National Assembly, chaired by its speaker, Roberto de Almeida, also analysed the treaty on extradition and transfer of condemned persons, signed between Angola and the Russian Federation and the accord of cooperation between the member States of the Portuguese Speaking Community (CPLP) on Hiv/Aids.
The draft laws on the National Communication Council and on political parties' access to media and response were removed from the meeting's agenda.
