Angola: Diplomat Highlights
Angola's economic growth over the last years and the government's efforts towards the improvement of people's living conditions have been highlighted by the counsellor of the Angolan Embassy in Cuba.
The diplomat Carlos Alberto Figueiredo informed the Cuban officials, Angolan students and other personalities about the country's progresses, at a ceremony that served to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of Angola's independence, marked on November 11.
Angola recorded in 2006, the second highest economic growth in Africa, he said, adding that the government has been implementing a programme for the consolidation of democracy, stability and diversify the economy, aimed at fighting poverty, as well as improve people's living standard.
The diplomat also reminded the engagement of President Jose Eduardo dos Santos as a great peace promoter.
