Visit the Nice of the East with Albatross
By
Once known as the Nice of the East, the Adriatic coastal town of Opatija is one of Croatia’s better kept secrets and a highlight of a 15 day tour from Munich to Venice.
The ‘Through Bavaria and Slovenia to Croatia’ tour, with Albatross Travel Group, moves through Bavaria and the Austrian Tyrol to the lakes and mountains of Slovenia, Croatia’s Adriatic coastline and the Italian Dolomites.
Sights visited range from The Holy Mountain in the Bavarian Alps with its 14th century abbey to Hitler’s World War II retreat at Berchtesgaden – The Eagle’s Nest.
Three nights are spent in Salzburg, Mozart’s baroque city of coblestoned streets, two on the shores of Lake Bled in Slovenia, three in Opatija and two in Castelbrando, an Italian castle in the Dolomites.
The cost is NZ$5589. This includes 14 nights accommodation, all breakfasts, 12 dinners, entrance fees, luxury coach travel, guides, tips and portage. International airfares are extra.
