The conference seeks to discuss the public policy implications of climate change as well as the potential impact to the Philippines. The forum will explore ‘concrete adaptation’ that would lead to the the drafting of the Albay Declaration on Climate Change, which will be an input to the Philippines Paper for the Bali Conference in December 2007.
Mining operations are seen as one of the major environmental threats in the Philippines and will be a conference focus.
