Holiday air travel
by
At Capital City Airport, things are running pretty smooth. One problem was with a United flight with a cracked windshield. Passengers on that flight were being rebooked, but that's the biggest problem. Other than that, people are in very good spirits. We caught up with one family who said this is a lot easier than they had expected. It was an early start for the Craggs.
Marlaine Teahan, picked up family at airport: "We left at 6:15 this morning, everyone was gracious to us at the airport because we were late and they let us cut in line."
They flew from Kansas City to Detroit, and after a quick layover, arrived in Lansing right on time. It's a great start to a weekend they've all been waiting for.
Ken Cragg, air traveler: "We don't get to see each other very much and people are coming from all over the country, and we're very excited."
Marlaine Teahan: "We hardly ever get together for Thanksgiving, actually not for many, many years, so this is a real treat."
And now that the flying's behind them, the focus is on the food.
Marlaine Teahan: "The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the pearl onions and the turnips."
The food, and of course, the family.
