Cyprus offer late summer sun throughout October
While summer will soon turn to autumn in much of Europe, Cyprus, the southernmost island in the Mediterranean, enjoys a much longer sunshine season, with high temperatures lasting far into October.
For tourists looking to take a break from the shortening days and cooling weather in the next few months, Cyprus is an ideal destination, offering a large array of different holiday styles to suit almost everyone's tastes.
A number of beautiful sand beaches meet the clear azure waters of the Mediterranean and provide an excellent venue for swimming and watersports. The many Cypriot restaurants also offer some of the finest seafood dishes in the Mediterranean, with local specialities including calamari, octopus in red wine and sea bass.
Meanwhile, for the more culturally inclined, the island has some fine Unesco World Heritage sites and delightful villages hidden away in the mountains. There are also a number of spa resorts as well as hiking and biking trails.
Cyprus is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Mediterranean and attracts more than 2.4m tourists every year. If you'd like to see this destination for yourself, use Opodo's travel search engine to find flights, hotels, holidays and car hire worldwide.
