Team Croatia travel with moustaches

Anyone catching a glimpse of Team Croatia travelling through customs on the way to the Olympic Games may have noticed one distinguishing feature - a moustache.

Reuters reports the water polo team have all grown the facial hair especially for Beijing as they believe it will be their lucky charm.

Igor Hinic told the news agency: "It's for good luck, but we can't talk about it, it's a secret, if I tell you, it will ruin it."

"Maybe it's working, it worked today, but it's too early to tell," he added, after beating Italy 11-7.

Reuters explains goalkeeper Josip Pavic started the trend when he came to training sporting a moustache.

Barac Samir, who has a full-grown thick moustache, remarked: "We have spent three months together training, maybe it was too much and we have gone little crazy."

Croatia's Olympic team have already celebrated one victory as Snjezana Pejcic took the bronze medal for shooting on Saturday (August 9th).
