Foggy Start to Holiday Travel

State police say they have issued 270 speeding tickets and responded to nearly 150 accidents so far during their Thanksgiving holiday traffic enforcement effort. The operation began at just after midnight Thursday morning and will continue to midnight on Sunday. Troopers have also handed out 310 tickets for failure to wear seat belts and another 337 citations for other violations, including following too close and unsafe lane changes
There have been more than 150 accidents since Wednesday morning, with one being fatal, NBC 30 reported. State police say drunken driving enforcement will be their major goal.
